Chugach is led by a nine-member Board of Directors. Members are elected by the shareholders from among their own ranks and serve three-year terms.
Sheri D. Buretta
Chairman of the Board
Sheri has served as Chugach’s full-time chair for 15 years. In addition Sheri serves as a board director for the Alaska Federation of Natives, Native American Contractors Association, Tatitlek Corporation, University of Alaska Anchorage, and ROSSIA (Russian Orthodox Sacred Sites in Alaska). Sheri was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and her family is from the Native Village of Tatitlek located in the Prince William Sound.
Sheri holds an accounting degree from the University of Alaska and a business degree from Gulf Coast Community College in Florida. She has previously served on the Prince William Sound Regional Citizens Advisory Council, the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Public Advisory Group, and Anchorage’s Sister City Commission, as well as co-chaired the transition team for former Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich.
Sheri and her husband Gary have two beautiful children, Anastasia and Bo.
